| Details: Overview:The Sr. Production Supervisor/ Engineer will be directly responsible for the supervision of all production lines for an assigned shift. Responsibilities include managing all operational requirements of production with an emphasis on safety, quality, productivity, cost vs. budget, company rules & regulations, as well as other areas as determined by management.  Additionally the Supervisor/ Engineer will need to support production processes in a way that will support a systematic approach to increase productivity and efficiency. These process improvements will be measured in both time and dollar factors. With there daily floor responsibilities, this will include collaboration with the Engineering Department.  Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure production order changeovers/ line sweeps with the Production Manager are seamless, effective and efficient and downtime is minimal. This must be accomplished by direct supervision of Sr. Line Leads. Line Leads and overall management of the shift.  Strategize, implement and monitor line staffing placement by using established standards and processes that determines the correct number of personnel required to run a production line by product type.  Ensure the Line Leads are line balancing in accordance with the line staffing (personnel placement, bottle neck management) quickly and efficiently to maximize throughput on an hourly and per minute basis that results in meeting budget and production targets. Use of Engineering background in mentoring, facilitating the effiencny knowledge/ improvements necessary daily with the Sr. Group overall.  Assist in improving work systems within the manufacturing facility by studying layouts, workflow and product workflow and work / product methods that maybe in use currently.  Responsible for daily attendance – reconciliation of line attendance daily with the Temp Staffing service. Work with OA/ Payroll Tech on any attendance and hours total issues related to shifts assigned. Daily attendance punch report reconciled and turned in to OA/ Payroll Tech for changes or corrections by mid-shift (rolling daily).  Responsible for any daily cost vs. budget losses on assigned shifts with causal being recorded into a email format to Production Managers / Director of Production-Packaging daily.  Ensure all Daily Production Reports being turned in by Line Leads are completely filled out correctly and timely to the OA for recording into the Cost Sheet data set.  Create, mentor, train, manage and maintain a productive, motivated, knowledgeable production line team including the Sr. Group assigned to your shift.   Must fulfill daily, monthly, yearly schedules as directed by Production Scheduling Department and/ or senior management.  Coordinate, give potential build feedback, and execute with support organizations work orders that are assigned by Production Control and Planning / Production Manager. This must be done in compliance within all processes/ procedures/ work instructions with the Production control process.  Ensure shift transitions are seamless, effective, and organized, 1st shift must meet with 2nd shift daily for hand off on each lines performance, quality issues and pertinent data that may affect the next shifts performance, 2nd shift to 1st shift must complete same information in email format to 1st shift counterparts.  Ensure Line Leads are measuring per hour/ per minute output data, record and analyze output by line on the Hourly Cost Spreadsheet and have available for management to get a “Quick" overview of hourly/daily output and budget attainment. With an Engineering background, work with specific lines and their management team closely to solve any output/ budget issues quickly to facilitate target attainment.  Coordinate/ monitor the interaction between Maintenance departments, Sr. Group personnel assigned to shift production lines.  With Engineering background, Identify/ relate to the Production Manager any areas/ efficiencies, productivity improvements within department. Implement agreed upon changes with the Production Manager/ Director of Production-Packaging.  Recommend / control supplies for the assigned Shift with the Sr. Line Lead and Line Leads.  Help with development, roll out of training plans, mentor, train, recommend and control proficiency ratings of assigned Sr. Group personnel, this includes in making sure there is a balance, knowledge and growth pattern of such classifications.  Help set yearly departmental objectives with management team. Review with the Sr. Line Leads, Sr. L-Sealers, and Sr. Palletizers performance against such objectives  Ensure all classification Sr. group personnel are maintaining trained processes. In daily/ weekly (TBD) mentoring, checklist or such item will be used in a feedback process and that the task is performed  Ability to interact with other team members and departments, including Warehouse, Packaging, Shipping & Receiving, Quality Assurance, Optimization and Wine Country Gift Baskets.  Ensure company policies and regulations are being adhered.  Ensure lines are building to Quality Assurance and Product Optimization specifications per guidelines.
